Meeting Minutes
1. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM by Ryan Harris, President
2. The Sign-In Sheet was passed around only to those individuals who are not yet on the email list.
3. Tyson gave the reading of the meeting minutes from the last meeting.
4. Kristen was unable to provide a financial report due to a last minute change on the agenda, she will have one ready to present next meeting.
Old Business
5. Halloween Carnival: Ryan gave a short overview of the bake sale and event. F-Stop raised $58 from the event and whatever left-overs they had after the event concluded, they gave to the students who participated in the Iron Pour.
6. Light-Well Exhibition: Ryan opened the agenda item with some comments and also reminded the society, we have only three weeks left to prepare, before handing the floor over to Tyson.
a. Discussion and conversation extends up to 40 minutes on this agenda item. Of that conversation, the following decisions were made:
i. Installation is set for Monday, 11/21, and Tuesday, 11/22. Katie and Tyson will oversee Installation.
ii. De-install is set to start at 5 PM on December 9th and continue through December 10th, if need be. Teeko & Tyson will oversee De-install
iii. Submission Eligibility: Open to the entire art school; limited to only video, film, photography. There is a $5 submission fee per entry, F-Stop members are exempt from this fee.
iv. Submission Deadline: 11/14 - Monday
v. Open-Critique: 11/16 – Wednesday @ 11 PM in the Digital Photography Lab
vi. Katie S. will be in charge of “title cards.”
vii. The Reception for the show: 12/5 – Monday – from 5:30-7:00 PM.
1. Katie, Teeko, & Justin are heading off putting together the reception food & beverages.
viii. Katie will email Andy asking if we can use the glass he donated last semester. Pending his response, if we are: We will hang the show with “L-Pins” all pieces need to be nicely matted. If not, all submissions will need to be presented “ready to hang.”
ix. Sarah, Ryan, and Teeko volunteered to take care of the show public relations. Tyson will forward an email that was sent earlier in the day from Jessica U. They need to answer the questions and/or draft up a press release by this Friday, 11/4.
x. The title of the show as officially set: Society Debut
xi. Kristen & Rick shall act “Production Crew.” Before the committee meeting need to ask Jessica or Jennifer what is available to use from the school, what the school covers, and what the society needs to be prepared to buy/supply. (This includes tv’s, projectors, computers for the show.)
xii. A committee meeting was scheduled for November 8th, Tuesday, at 11 PM in the Digital Photography Lab. All Committee Members are expected to attend.
7. During discussion of the gallery, Ryan interjected. The due date for membership dues has been extended to DECEMBER 10TH and is $15.
8. Ryan proposed (without objection) to postpone the “Photo-Challenges” and “Society Workshops” to next semester, given how much is currently going on and the time frame remaining. Since unopposed, the Society will revisit these two items in Spring 2012.
9. The next business meeting has been set for Friday, December 9th at 7 PM to close out the semester.
Announcements
A. Teeko asked if the society is interested in setting up a “group text” to help send reminders and society information. She said she will set one up.
B. Teeko asked the society if they are interested in hosting a show next semester, if so, she knows people who would love to help us arrange a show. The society decided to wait on a decision until after the Light-Well, postponed.
